Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2026

1. Who we are and what Readably is

Readably is a Chrome extension that adapts webpages for easier reading — fonts, colour tints, focus tools, and related accessibility features. It is operated by GbR Nikos Kotsakis und Myrto Papagiannakou, Dolziger Str. 14, 10247 Berlin, Germany ("Readably", "we", "us").

By installing or using Readably, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the extension.

2. Free and Premium tiers

Readably is available in two tiers.

Free — the core reading tools (fonts, colour tints, focus mode, reading ruler, column width, text highlighting, word lookup, translation, and cross-device preference sync) are available at no cost and do not require an account.

Premium — a paid subscription that unlocks additional fonts, extra colour tints and custom tinting, bionic text, speed reading and read aloud, fine-grained spacing and contrast controls, per-site accessibility profiles, and quick notes with export. We may change what is included in each tier over time; if we reduce Premium functionality materially, we will give notice on the website.

3. Subscription terms

Readably Premium is offered as a recurring subscription, billed either monthly at €1.99/month or annually at €1.49/month (billed once per year). Prices are shown in EUR and may include applicable taxes depending on your location.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled beforehand. You can cancel at any time; your Premium access continues until the end of the period you've already paid for, and no partial refund is given for the unused portion of that period.

We may change subscription pricing going forward. Where required by law, we will give advance notice before a price change applies to your existing subscription.

4. Payment processing

All Premium payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd ("Paddle"), our payment processor and merchant of record. Paddle handles billing, invoicing, and the collection and remittance of applicable sales taxes and VAT on our behalf. Your order will be with Paddle, and Paddle's own terms and privacy policy govern the collection and processing of your payment details. Readably does not receive or store your full card details.

5. Your responsibilities

You agree to use Readably only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not disrupt, damage, or interfere with the extension, the website, or other users. You are responsible for keeping your device and browser secure, and for any activity that happens through your Premium licence.

You may not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or circumvent Readably's licensing or payment mechanisms, or resell or redistribute Premium access without our written permission.

6. Intellectual property

Readably, including its code, design, branding, and content on this website, is the property of GbR Nikos Kotsakis und Myrto Papagiannakou and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the extension for its intended purpose. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

7. Limitation of liability

Readably is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee that the extension will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every website, and we are not responsible for how third-party websites render once Readably has modified their display.

To the extent permitted by German law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Readably. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for intent, gross negligence, or injury to life, body, or health, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory law.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service as Readably evolves. When we make meaningful changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Readably after a change means you accept the updated terms.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Germany, excluding its conflict-of-law provisions. If you are a consumer, mandatory consumer-protection provisions of your own country of residence may also apply. Where legally permissible, the courts of Berlin, Germany have jurisdiction over any disputes arising from these terms.
